Entry Eleven.
A Mad Woman II

UPDATED 2011-10-23 T21:38

Evening readers. I don't usually do this, but I'm bored, and I'm in on a Saturday night, which is depressing me. Last post I described my first date with the East Coaster (EC for short?), and mentioned that we had made plans for a second date. Even though I'm still seeing this girl I've decided to write about the second date since I had so much feedback from that post (a whole 4 comments!).

I've been pretty active on the site lately as well. There are 3 or 4 girls who I'm currently exchanging messages with, which will hopefully turn into at least one date in the near future. I'm finding it harder and harder to find the motivation to message new people, but every once in awhile I come across an interesting profile - but they're starting to become fewer and farther between. I'd rather meet people in real life, but I still don't have a large social group here, at it's mainly confined to work colleagues - which I've stated already I want to avoid.

Anyway, on to the more interesting aspect of this evening's update; "A Mad Woman II," after the jump.

So after the first date EC seemed kinda clingy. Obviously this is usually a bad thing, so I was skeptical and my gut instinct was to keep my distance. Irregardless, the gentlemen in me decided to give her a second chance.

On the night of the second date EC invited me over to her place to order in rather then go out because of it was raining. After some confusion we settled on going out instead and met up at the same spot as the first time.

She was late, and showed up in a cab. We greeted each other and set out for a restaurant a coworker of hers had recommended. She looked good, much better then last time, wore blue jeans and a dark blazer. We walked to the restaurant, Casa Tapas, and talked apartment hunting on route. The restaurant was fancier then expected, but it was a quiet night and turned out great. We shared 3 dishes and a bottle of wine, the food was good, but a tad expensive for the quality. She was much calmer this time, and good company. After dinner she offered either a movie at her place or a friends party. My place was closer so I suggested we go back there for a drink.

It was raining when we left, so we walked quickly back to my apartment via Saint Laurant. The SAQ was closed so we finished off the beer that was in my fridge. We started watching a movie, but never finished. She was super nervous, but in a cute way - rather then clingy. We made out for awhile on my couch, but didn't pass second base (though it depends on your definition). I walked her to a cab and said goodnight.

We have plans to see each other again tomorrow. Now, I'm not about to close my OkCupid account, but I think I'm going to give this a proper opportunity and see where it goes. I think I've realized to hedge my bets

UPDATED 2011-10-23 T21:38 : Date 3 has been postponed until tomorrow night because of complications with her bus trip back to Montreal.

  1. First things first, Maxanova, I just noticed your scorecard. Big fan of it; however, I'm going to recommend let's throw in the area code system as well. If you didn't know, check this out (http://putupyourdukes.wordpress.com/2008/07/14/the-area-code-rating-system-why-1-10-just-isnt-enough/), although I switch the meaning of the first and last digit.

It's cool EC's calm down, for now...so maybe next time you should check out how she's with her friends? It's win-win; you scope this one out in her natural habitat and you meet more people, the female kind. Remember, sharing is caring ;)
