So I instead, decided to write about the first successful foray I had. I won't refer to her by name, to maintain her anonymity, and several details will be changed for what I would assume are legal purposes.
She was cute, and french - that was the dream. I had always invisioned myself moving here and dating a cute french girl - she could teach me french, then french kiss me. When we began talking I was still in Ontario, so we maintained a bit of a penpal relationship for a couple weeks. We got to know each other a little bit, and flirted a little more. I think in the end, this was really helpful, especially when it came to the first date, which is even more important given that it would become my first, first date from the internet.
Oddly, she message me first, and the rest is history....
Our conversation was good, she seemed intelligent, but exciting. She was younger then me, and out of school, but it didn't really bother me. I think the thing that attracted me most to her was a picture of her which was hashtagged:
#pixdechixdanslemirroirPlus, she was pretty hot. I was sold.
By the time I finally got to Montreal, we had exchanged numbers and were texting each other fairly frequently. We made plans to meet up for some post-work sangria.
She set the meeting spot, the fountain at Square St. Louis. I arrived early, and sat on the outside looking in, I wanted to be ready to avoid the meeting if needed. She arrived soon after, dressed in high heels, jeans and a white top, she wore a lot of makeup, but looked good.
We hugged, and from there on awkwardness ceased. We got along great, and conversation was like we had known each other for awhile, which was actually kinda true. We bar hoped and probably shared 3 or 4 pitchers of sangria and a couple burgers at Le Barbare. We hung out for about 6 hrs before she had to catch her metro. No funny business. I remember she texted me after the date, something like "I didn't know Ontarians could be so charming". We got along great, and made plans for a second date, which subsequently became a third date and eventually a casual relationship. She shared secrets with me, and I learned of her separatist leanings. Looking back, she was young and immature, and we had communication issues, so it probably didn't have much of a future - but I enjoyed it while it lasted.
I dated her for about 3 weeks, but just as it was getting serious she ended it with me by text message. She wasn't ready for an emotional commitment, had people and things to deal with.
It was upsetting, but I moved on quickly and soon had another internet date lined up...
