I'm finally caught up! I can talk about topical things now!
This past weekend was a busy one. High-school themed grad student party on Friday, date with gamer-girl on Saturday, which was postponed to Sunday and on top of that I also received a record number of messages on the site.
Record number being 4. Which is a lot for a guy. I think. Two girls messaged me back after a couple weeks of no contact, one unsolicited message and one new reply. This seems boring, on to the interesting stuff:
Grad party had zero returns. It reminded me of middleschool/highschool. Girls in circles on the dance floor, guys along the walls. A fog machine lit up by a disco ball. Awkward nerds, sloppily flirting with each other and making out. I got too drunk off of vodka and went home alone, but I had a good time.
Things finally picked up with the video-game girl on the weekend. We've been chatting for a couple weeks now, first on the site, then on facebook, and lately texting. I came here to meet new people, but it's such a small world - she also went to my alma mater, Western, and we have several friends in common, but we must have just missed each other by a year or so.
We had planned to get drinks in Mile-end, at this bar I randomly ended up at one night back in August, but her work got in the way so we rescheduled for coffee on Sunday. We ended up suggesting the same place, Cafe Myriad, just out of the Guy-Concordia metro, downtown. It was a nice little place and the cafe du jour was good. She was very tall, almost eye level with me and wore jeans and a black blazer. I don't usually go for tall girls, but she was slender and it worked for her. Maybe I just like model-types, who knew. We drank our coffees and compared stories from Western. She laughed loudly and frequently at my jokes. Conversation was good, and afterward we found a bar on Crescent street for a proper drink. It was a gorgeous day, but the service sucked. We parted ways after a few hours because of other plans we both had - she had to go rescue her epileptic cat, and I had to get ready for a work pot-luck.
We've talked several times since, and plan to see each other again - this might have potential to turn into something, but we'll have to see how things play out.
TL;DR
