I actually messaged this girl twice. When I first started on the website she was one of my first matches and I tried to contact her unsuccessfully. She subsequently deactivated and reactivated her account, so I tried again. This time I got a reply and we exchanged a few messages before we made plans to meet up.
She's from Toronto and studied fashion design in university. She was recruited to work in Montreal along with several of her peers. We planned to meet at Else's, a small bar off the main drag in the plateau on Thursday night (Night 1). Given that I hadn't been there yet I chose it from among her suggestions.
It was cold and rainy that night, but I waited outside for her to arrive. She showed up on time and we found a table inside. It was fairly crowded. She wore a grey sweater and high-waisted jeans and resembled the girl in the worst of her profile pictures.
We ordered nachos with our drinks and discussed the usual; Montreal, school, jobs, the website. We had a couple drinks and stayed for awhile, but all in all it was pretty nondescript. She had definite hipster cred, and currently works for a small design company specializing in an older women's clothing line. She was a nice girl, but I definitely did not feel "a spark" as people say. When we parted ways, she suggested we might get together again. I skirted the issue a little bit and said we'd text about it. I don't think I will but I wouldn't have been opposed to seeing her again if she initiated it.
